张家港市位于长江经济带和21世纪海上丝绸之路交汇处，市域总面积999平方公里，拥有全国县级市中最密集的”公水铁空、江海联运”交通网络，连续30年位居全国百强县（市）“前三甲”。全市共有外资企业1000余家，累计总投资超352亿美元，41个世界500强企业在张家港投资设立了67个项目。2023年实现进出口总额405亿美元，实际利用外资4.52亿美元。

张家港市持续瞄准“4+4”产业链发展方向，升级焕新钢铁、装备、化工、纺织等传统支柱产业，发展壮大特色半导体、生物医药及高端医疗器械、新能源、数字经济等新兴产业，前瞻性培育新型储能、第三代半导体、商业航天、氢能等未来产业，加快构建具有“港城特色”的现代化产业体系。

Zhangjiagang is located at the intersection of Yangtze River Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. The total area of the city is 999 square kilometers. Among all county-level cities in China, Zhangjiagang owns the most dense transportation network, including highway, waterway, railway, and airline. It has been ranked top three in the top 100 county-level cities in China for 30 consecutive years. Zhangjiagang has more than 1,000 foreign-invested enterprises with a cumulative investment of more than $35.2 billion. 41 Fortune 500 companies have invested 67 projects in Zhangjiagang. In 2023, the total import-and-export volume reached $40.5 billion, and the actual utilization of foreign capital was $452 million.

Zhangjiagang continues to focus on the development of "4+4" industrial chain. It upgrades and renews the traditional pillar industries, including steel, equipment, chemical industry and textile, and develops and enhances the emerging industries, including characteristic semiconductor, biomedicine and high-end medical equipment, new energy and digital economy. It also aims to cultivate prospective merging industries, including new energy storage, third-generation semiconductor, commercial aerospace and hydrogen energy. Zhangjiagang is accelerating the construction process of a modern industrial system with its own characteristics.
