荣获全国科技进步先进市”七连冠”，是首批全国创新型县（市）、国家可持续发展实验区、国家知识产权示范城市、江苏省创新型试点市，蝉联国家知识产权示范城市考核全国县市第一。全社会研发投入占GDP比重达3.56%。建成产业技术研究院9家，省级以上科创孵化载体42家（其中国家级12家），拥有科创孵化载体面积超400万方。累计引进张家港市重大创新创业团队15个、领军型创新创业人才项目1189个、苏州”姑苏计划”351个、省”双创计划”184个。
Zhangjiagang has been honored as the National Advanced City in Sci-tech Progress for seven consecutive times, the first batch of National Innovative Counties (Cities), National Sustainable Development Experimental Zone, National Intellectual Property Right (IPR) Demonstration City and Jiangsu Provincial Innovation Pilot City. It continuously tops nationwide cities and counties in the National IPR Demonstration City evaluation. The total social R&D input reported 3.56% of the city's GDP. It has established 9 industrial technology research institutes, 42 provincial and above level incubators, and owns over 4 million m2 of incubator carriers. The city has introduced 15 Major Innovative and Pilot Teams, 1189 Pioneering Innovative and Pilot Talent Programs, 184 members of the province's Innovative and Entrepreneurial Talent Program, and 351 members of the Suzhou Talent Program.
