张家港经济技术开发区成立于1993年，与张家港市主城区融合一体发展，区域总面积153平方公里。
近年来，张家港经开区始终坚持”项目为王、创新驱动”，重点发展”汽车及零部件、新能源、智能装备”三大主导产业，引进了盛虹储能电池超级工厂、长城宝马光束汽车、采埃孚、麦格纳、杉金光电、天兵科技等一批旗舰型项目，着力打造具有影响力的创新高地，加速形成千亿级特色产业创新集群。累计批办外资企业476家，拥有上市企业10家、规上工业企业379家、高企269家、市级以上领军人才超500名。建有沙洲湖科创园等超百万方高端载体，获评”国家绿色园区、国家级生态文明建设示范区、国家新型工业化产业示范基地”等20多项国字号荣誉。2022年位列江苏省开发区高质量发展综评第8名，杨舍镇蝉联全国千强镇第2位。
Zhangjiagang Economic and Technological Development Zone(ZETDZ) was established in 1993. Integrating development with the downtown area, it covers an area of 153 km2.
In recent years, ZETDZ has always adhered to the development concept "project-oriented and innovation-driven", and been focusing on the development of three leading industries: automobiles and parts, new energy, and intelligent equipment. It has introduced a number of flagship projects, such as Shenghong mega factory for energy storage battery, Spotlight Auto co-established by Great Wall and BMW, ZF, Magna, ShanJin Optoelectronics, Space Pioneer Technology, and is striving to build an influential innovation highland and accelerate the formation of a 100-billion-yuan characteristic industry innovation cluster. It has a total of 476 foreign-invested enterprises, 10 listed companies, 379 above scale industrial enterprises, 269 high-tech enterprises, and more than 500 leading talents above the municipal level. It has built a number of high-end carriers, such as Shazhou Lake Science and Technology Park, and has won more than 20 national honors, such as "National Green Park, National Demonstration Zone for Ecological Civilization Construction, and National New-type Industrialized Industry Demonstration Base." In 2022, it ranked 8th in the comprehensive evaluation of high-quality development among development zones in Jiangsu Province, and Yangshe Town has ranked 2nd in the national top 1,000 towns for two consecutive years.
