冶金产业
冶金产业是张家港市的支柱产业，拥有世界500强企业沙钢集团、浦项不锈钢，永钢集团、联合铜业等一批优势企业以及攀华、新港星等多家特色金属制品企业，初步形成从初级产品到深度加工较为完整的产业体系和产业链。
化工产业
规划有扬子江国际化学工业园、东沙、飞翔化工集中区三大化工生产基地，园区内主要规模企业有陶氏、杜邦、道康宁、瓦克、华昌、飞翔等国际国内知名企业。已经形成有机硅、工程塑料、树脂涂料、表面活性剂及助剂、电子化学品、精细化学品原料以及锂电池等产业链。
扬子江国际化学工业园
机电产业
形成了冶金、煤化工等大型成套设备、工业锅炉、核电设备、起重设备、船舶部件等产品系列，主要企业包括张化机、海陆重工、马尼托瓦克、圣汇气体装备、西马克等行业知名企业。
纺织产业
现有规模以上纺织企业近400家，形成了棉纺织、毛纺织、针织、服装、化纤、印染等多品种、宽领域的产业格局，主要企业华芳集团、澳洋集团在全国纺织行业中拥有较高地位，位列全国纺织工业企业百强。
粮油食品产业
现有规模以上粮油食品企业12家，主要企业有东海粮油、益江粮油、梁丰食品等。主要产品有精制食用植物油、配混合饲料、面粉、大米、巧克力、乳制品、糖果、啤酒、黄酒、饮料等。
Present industries
Metallurgy
Metallurgy is the pillar industry of the city. With Fortune 500 company Shagang Group and other metallurgical players like ZPSS, Yonggang Group and Union Copper as well as metal products manufacturer Panghua Group, Xingangxing Company, a complete industrial chain system has already been formed in the city.
Textile
With about 400 scaled textile enterprises in the city, an industrial chain with varieties of fields has been formed with products ranging from cotton and wool spinning to knitting, clothing, chemical fiber and printing. Huafang Group and Aoyang Group of the city are among the country’s top 100 textile enterprises.
Electro-mechanics
A series of electro-mechanic products have been developed in the city, such as complete set of equipment for metallurgical and coal chemical industry, industrial boiler, nuclear power equipment, lifting equipment and ship building parts. Major famous enterprises include Zhangjiagang Chemical Machinery, Hailu Heavy Industry, Manitowoc, Shenghui Gas & Chemical Systems and SMS Siemag.
Chemical
There are three major chemical production bases in the city, namely, Yangtze International Chemical Industrial Park, Dongsha Chemical Area and Feixiang Chemical Area, with international and domestic chemical giants like Dow Chemical, Dupont, Dow Corning, Wacker Chemical, Huachang Group and Feixiang Group. Industrial chains have been formed for organic silicone, engineering plastics, resin coatings, surfactant, electrical chemicals, specialty chemicals and lithium battery.
Oils, grains and food
Currently there are 12 scaled grain, oil and food companies, including COFCO Eastocean Oils & Grains, Yijiang Oils & Grains, Liangfeng Food with mainstay products namely refined edible vegetable oil, mixed feed, flour, rice, chocolate, dairy product, candies, beer, yellow rice wine, beverages etc..
