Deep Processing of Steel Products Project

I. Background for Proposed Project
Jiangsu Yangtze International Metallurgical Industrial Park (YMIP) was approved by Jiangsu Provincial Government in 2003, covering an area of 40 square kilometers. It owns quays of 10,000-tonnage class. Key enterprises in YMIP include Jiangsu Shagang Group, Pohang Stainless Steel (invested by South Korea’s POSCO), SK Networks, Xiaosha Steel (a joint venture invested by South Korea’s Samsung Corporation & Hyosung Corporation), Air Liquid France, Farun Group, Lianhe Copper, Tianpeng Group, etc. The whole Park realized nearly US$ 18 billion of sales revenue, US$ 1.8 billion of profits and tax, US$ 2.4 billion of exports in 2008.
As a world-famous steel industrial park, YMIP has annual production capacity of 15 million tons of iron, 18 million tons of steel and rolled products respectively, 1 million tons of stainless steel. It is dedicated to build itself into a steel logistics base, having steel manufacturing and metal processing as its main industries, machinery manufacturing, auto parts and new materials as its extension industries. The Electronic Trading Market of Metallurgical Logistic Center, which is on construction, will provide e-commerce service and logistics support to all steel enterprises in the future.
 
II. Project Information
The proposed project is to engage in deep processing of heavy plate, hot-rolled sheet, stainless steel plate, galvanized steel sheet, and etc., which is usually used in industries of automobiles, home appliance, engineering machinery, shipbuilding, construction and hardware, etc., as well as in distribution, storage, transportation and other services related to steel products. The annual processing and distribution capacity is to reach 300,000 tons of steel products.
