Zhangjiagang Port is the largest international commercial port along the Yangtze River. There are huandreds of thousands of vessels entering and leaving the port annually. With the advantage of its port and logistics aggregation, Zhangjiagang is developing into an ideal base for shipbuilding business.

From Nov. 29, 2008 when Zhangjiagang Jiu Sheng Shipyard Co., Ltd. started ship repair for a 70,000-ton foreign ship, a large-scaled shipbuilding base in the south bank of the Yangtze River has taken shape gradually. Jiu Sheng Shipyard is a company mainly engaged in dock repair,minor repair, medium repair and major repair and ship conversion of vessels home and abroad. Till  now 35 ships from home and abroad have been successfully repaired and delivered. With the completion of the whole project, Jiu Sheng Shipyard will be the third largest shipbuiding base along the Yangtze River.
